1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files saved by your browser when you visit a site. They let us remember your cookie-consent choice, keep filter preferences working between visits, and understand which reviews readers find genuinely useful.
2. How Strappeak uses cookies
We use cookies on https://strappeak.com for the following purposes:
- Essential: remembering your cookie-consent choice and keeping the site running smoothly.
- Analytics: aggregate, anonymised statistics that tell us which reviews work and which need rewriting.
- eBay affiliate attribution: when you click a "Buy on eBay" link, eBay (not us) sets a cookie so the eBay Partner Network can credit Strappeak with the referral. This is how the site is funded — we never charge readers.
3. Cookie categories
3.1 Strictly necessary
- cookieConsent — records whether you accepted or declined cookies (so we don't show the banner on every visit). Stored locally, 1-year expiry.
3.2 Analytics & performance
- _ga, _gid, _gat — Google Analytics. Anonymised visitor counts, pages visited, time on site. We do not receive any personally identifiable information from these.
3.3 eBay Partner Network (affiliate)
- When you click through to eBay via one of our affiliate links, eBay places its own cookies on your browser for the sole purpose of attributing the referral to Strappeak. These cookies are governed by eBay's Privacy Notice. We have no access to their contents.
4. Third-party cookies
Some cookies on Strappeak are set by third-party services we rely on:
- Google Analytics — traffic measurement. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- eBay Partner Network — affiliate referral tracking. Cookies are set on the eBay domain when you follow an outbound link from Strappeak to eBay.
We do not sell data to advertisers, and we do not participate in behavioural ad networks that build cross-site profiles.
5. How to control cookies
- Via our banner: click Decline the first time you visit. We will only set strictly-necessary cookies.
- Via your browser: all modern browsers let you block or delete cookies under their privacy settings. Note that blocking all cookies may disable preferences like saved filters.
- Opt out of Google Analytics: install the official opt-out browser add-on.
- Manage eBay's cookies: see eBay's Cookie Notice for opt-out controls.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in technology or regulations. When we do, we'll revise the date at the top of this page. Continued use of https://strappeak.com after changes indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
7. More information
For how we handle data outside cookies — including how the eBay Partner Network affiliate relationship works — see our Privacy Policy. For questions about cookies, please use the contact form on the site.
